IPC Voting Milepost 3

On Friday 8th March children from grades 3 and 4 (next year’s MP3) were given the opportunity to express their views regarding the choice of units for our new IPC route map. After an entertaining presentation from Mrs Avilés, our MP3 coordinator, describing a selection of the units and their learning goals, the children had to choose the five units which they felt would engage them best in their learning and then justify their choices. The "voting slips" were put into a ballot box and later counted up by members of the school council. The final data from the activity is shown in the graph below. The children are very clear that making the final Route Map is the responsibility of the milepost coordinators so as to ensure a balanced curriculum within and between mileposts, but were, nevertheless, very pleased to have been consulted about their future learning and had some useful insights to share with us.
